On Tuesday, “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert blasted President Trump for his latest ridiculous tweets.
“Trump took credit for no one dying in a plane crash this year. That explains his new campaign slogan, ‘Trump 2020: You got to Tulsa, didn’t you?” Colbert joked.
Colbert was referring to a tweet from President Trump on Tuesday, which read, “Since taking office I have been very strict on Commercial Aviation. Good news – it was just reported that there were Zero deaths in 2017, the best and safest year on record!”
The late night host then spoke about another controversial tweet from Trump.
“In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!,” Trump wrote on December 28.
Colbert responded to the tweet, saying, “See the logic here, just because Trump is cold right now, that’s evidence that the earth is not getting warmer. Just like because Donald Trump is president right now, that’s evidence we’ve never had a competent president.”
