Top Dem Rep Brings Up Major Point Regarding Trump/Russia Investigation During Latest Interview

On Wednesday, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-California) appeared on MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hayes.”

During the interview, Waters addressed President Trump and Robert Mueller’s ongoing Russia investigation.

“We don’t know everything that’s in this plot, except that they’re trying to stop this investigation. This president does not want it to go forward and we cannot help but ask: Why?” she asked.

Waters continued, stating, “What is he afraid of? If he has not been involved with collusion, if he has not been involved in obstruction of justice, if he has not been involved in money laundering, if he doesn’t have a plot to lift the sanctions working with the Kremlin, and the oligarchs of Russia, [then] what is he afraid of? Why is he going to such lengths to discredit the special counsel?”

Dem Rep Ted Lieu also addressed President Trump’s attempts to discredit the Russia investigation on Wednesday.

“If Donald Trump wants to take the first footsteps of Richard Nixon, he’s certainly welcome to try. But it will not end well for him,” Lieu said while speaking from the House floor.

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Fox News, “For the one-thousandth time, we have no intentions of firing Bob Mueller. We’re continuing to work closely and cooperating with him and we look forward to seeing this hoax wrap up very soon.”
