WATCH: Colbert Slams Trump’s Divisive National Monument Decision During Latest Show

On Tuesday, “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert slammed President Trump’s recent decision regarding two national monuments in Utah.

“It hasn’t been all defending pedophiles for Donald Trump. He’s also been assaulting Mother Nature. Yesterday, Trump signed an order slashing the size of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase national monument,” Colbert said.

According to The Hill, “Trump on Monday signed proclamations slashing the borders of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante monuments, reducing them by about 50 percent and 84 percent respectively.”

Colbert then continued, stating, “Hey, come on…it’s reasonable that he doesn’t care about them: They’re just national monuments, they’re not Confederate monuments.”

Colbert was referring to comments made by Trump at a rally in August.

“They’re trying to take away our culture. They’re trying to take away our history. And our weak leaders, they do it overnight. These things have been there for 150 years, for a hundred years. You go back to a university and it’s gone. Weak, weak people,” Trump said at the rally.
