Right-wing radio host Sandy Rios has gone to great lengths to defend Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore against the sexual allegations that have emerged due to a report by the Washinton Post. Rios has argued that all men have things in their past that they are ashamed of sexually on an earlier show but now she is getting more desperate to defend Moore as the 5th accuser has now come forward.
In fact, during a recent show, Rios compared Roy Moore, the man who is accused of having sexual relations with teenage girls, to Jesus Christ. That’s right. Rios reminded her audience that Jesus was “accused” too. As if being accused of a crime is some kind of indication of greatness.
What’s more, earlier this week, Rios told her male listeners to ask themselves if they also had anything in their past that they are “ashamed of sexually” before judging Moore. Ashamed of? Maybe. But illegal? Likely not. Rios continued to explain why the GOP wants Moore out: “His opinions on marriage, the sanctity of marriage, and the rule of law and the Ten Commandments are so unpalatable to the Washington establishment. They’re revulsed by that.”
She went on to argue:“This is a larger issue. The focus is on Justice Moore, but really he is a proxy for all of us that are believers in Jesus. Now I’m saying in terms of the hatred and vitriol coming his way and the delight, really, in destroying him if they can. It’s what the darkness always does to the light. Remember that Jesus himself was accused, but he was completely innocent. Remember that they paid guards to come and lie about whether the stone was rolled away and the body was not there. This is not new.” Listen to her clip below and comment with your thoughts.
