Olbermann Explains How Damaging Trump Jr’s Testimony Was

President Donald Trump’s adult children have remained steadfast in their support of their father, clearly willing to go down with the ship if Trump is removed from the White House or worse.

This past July, the president’s younger namesake Donald Trump Jr appeared in front of a Senate intelligence committee and delivered testimony regarding himself and other key players’ actions during the 2016 campaign. In the most recent episode of his video podcast, political commentator Keith Olbermann put together how Trump Jr’s testimony could prove to be particularly damning for President Trump in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.

Stated Keith in his video, “What we know from the first false Trump Jr. statement in July, the one he [President Trump] either dictated or weighed in on, they were apparently overruled. What Mueller is apparently trying to do with [White House Communications Director Hope Hicks] is similar to what he is doing with White House Counsel McGahn, a crime occurred in real time.” Added Olbermann, “Trump Jr lied, at least once, about why there was a meeting. He lied at least once about what the meeting was about. He lied about how many people were at the meeting. He lied about everything about the meeting. [Donald Trump’s lawyer Jay] Sekulow lied at least twice about about Trump at least contributing to the writing of the statement. If the Washington Post story about Trump writing the statement is correct, then Huckabee Sanders lied about Trump not dictating it.”

Keith went on, “And Trump himself? Each time he dismissed the meeting as unimportant, he lied. Every time he declared the Russian scandal a ‘witch hunt,’ he lied. ‘Fake news,’ an ‘excuse made up by Democrats.’ He has lied and lied and lied and lied and lied.” He finished, “Happily, his own son has caught him. And in doing so, has brought the cover-up of those lies into the White House and into the purview of the special counsel Mueller.” Do you think Olbermann is right? Watch his video below:
