Trump Blames Investigation for Dividing the Country

The scandal involving Donald Trump and his firing of FBI Director James Comey in the middle of an investigation of the Trump administration’s possible ties to Russia is the biggest political scandal since Watergate, according to some. The elements are all there. The scrambling president trying to keep the truth from the eyes and ears of the public. Hotels. Spying. This is Watergate all over again.

President Trump recently has criticized this “witch hunt” of his short presidency, claiming that it is dividing the nation. Of course he is complaining about the investigation of his own presidency, but doesn’t he know that the more he protests, the more suspicious he looks. What is he hiding from us?

Trump said at a news conference, reported by Politico,

“The entire thing has been a witch hunt, and there was no collusion,”

“Believe me,” President Trump later added, “there’s no collusion.”

He was then asked if he had asked James Comey to stop his investigation into National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, he responded,

“No. No. Next question.”

Every time Donald Trump, or Sean Spicer in his place, doesn’t answer a question about the entire scandal, the less trust the public has in him. We need a leader who does not hide behind other “yes men”. We need a leader who does not complain about his job being too hard. Most importantly, we need a leader who we can trust to tell us the truth. If there is something going on, we deserve to know.
